Integrated Finance System Survey Insights

Budgeting, planning, financial close, and consolidation are essential tasks for finance teams. These processes together form what is often referred to in the market as enterprise performance management (EPM). For these processes, organizations spend considerable amounts of time gathering data, reporting, and creating plans to carve a clear path forward. Throughout the process, finance teams struggle with inefficient workflows, inaccurate data, and integration problems. Here, we highlight challenges faced by those finance teams responsible for budgeting, planning, financial close, and consolidation, as well as why they choose to adopt technology that includes both processes. In this research report, we refer to a technology solution that includes close and consolidation and budgeting and planning as an integrated finance system. To better understand why finance teams choose to adopt an integrated finance system, insightsoftware partnered with Hanover Research to survey 225 finance decision-makers across Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and the United States.
