The Insight Software Suite for JD Edwards – What's New?
In the latest release, of the Insight Software Suite, Insight Budgeting™ goes from "great" to "amazing", more content has been ready-made for you to use as-is or modify to your needs, and Designer Express has been enhanced to support your reporting needs.
Below is an overview of the new features and functionality you will find when you upgrade to the latest release.
Insight Budgeting™
We looked at the most requested enhancements from you and implemented them. Here are some of your favorites:
- Better usability with streamlined interfaces and options making for faster, smoother budget setup, entry and management.
- Combine the benefits of Excel™ modeling and calculations with the real time information and controls embedded in Insight Budgeting™ - we call this expanded functionality Intelligent Excel™ Modeling.
- Improve collaboration and information sharing with a new comment column.
- A new application called Budgeting Lite that is ideal for budgeting contributors and approvers throughout the organization.
- Plus many more features that might actually make your users look forward to budgeting and forecasting!
Insight Designer– Express Edition™
This popular solution for creating customer template in Insight Reporting™ now has more features for your complex reporting and inquiry requirements such as total level recalculations.
Another significant enhancement is multiple joins to the same table. This is perfect for getting more analysis on those reports with multiple customer numbers (e.g. sold to, ship to, etc.).

More Templates and SmartSets™
Our goal is to make your life easier. Templates and SmartSets are designed by experts in the industry and in JD Edwards.
The new Warehouse Management SmartSet is an integral part of the manufacturing and distribution processes. It works together with inventory and manufacturing modules to manage inventory items and the products that companies produce and ship. This SmartSet includes key information like current and picked inventory, replenishments, storage information and location setup.
More templates and enhancements have been added including a new integrated template for General Ledger Balances & Transactions, and the General Ledger Balances Batch Upload (F0902Z1).
Insight Reconciler™
Templates just got smarter with a new templates for Payroll reconciliations. We integrate Payroll information (F0618 and F06116) and GL Transactions (F0911) to determine variances for T2 documents and identify reconciling items. A GL audit can also be done for other payroll document types.
This expands our existing offering that includes General Ledger to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Inventory and Received Not Vouchered/GRNI. Like our other Reconciliation Templates the Payroll Variance includes options for seeing both sides of the reconciliation on a single screen, prebuilt calculations and essential logic to handle the complexities so you get results in minutes. More Powerful Console
Insight Console™ is the best interactive report viewing tool around and it just got better. In addition to the robust features already included in Insight Console™ like filters, security and drill down, we've added the option to include a query by example line so users can search for specific records as needed. The on-screen display of titles has also been enhanced to improve the viewing experience. Learn More.
New Language Support
Insight Reporting™, Insight Reconciler™ and Insight Designer™ are now available in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
